Giveaway -- Tiger Woods Story on DVD
July 14th 2010 22:36
Prodigy: An Unauthorized Story on Tiger Woods is touting the DVD by describing Tiger Wood’s career “from golfing phenomenon and beloved role model to confessed adulterer with so much to lose”. I beg to differ. Sure, Tiger Woods has swung from fame and fortune to scandal and infamy as examined, but the documentary barely touches the surface of the scandal. Instead, we see a talented and generous man fall from Grace and step up, again, to meet his challenges.
Arguably, the best golfer in history, Tiger Woods has won 14 Majors and 71 PGA Tour events, becoming the world’s highest paid athlete with estimated earnings of $110 million. But as high as Woods has soared, there was just as far to fall.
Born Eldrick Tont Woods, the sporting prodigy studied at the prestigious Stanford University, competing in Ivy League tournaments. His youth, good looks, charisma and tenacity earned him a position as golf’s most marketable asset, single-handedly popularizing the greens among a mass audience.
Prodigy examines Wood’s stratospheric rise – the man and phenomenon – then chronicles his rapid fall from grace, without a lot of detail and in a forgiving manner.
Prodigy: An Unauthorized Story on Tiger Woods is presented in full frame with an aspect ratio of 4 x 3 and Stereo 2.0. Bonus material includes four featurettes: “Reaction to Apology,” a look at a remorseful Woods admitting his indiscretions; “Golf Back in the Olympics,” a brief history dating back to the 1904 games; “Madame Tussauds,” visiting Woods’ wax likeness; and “The Ryder Cup,” an examination of the prestigious annual tournament.
Screenhead is honored to have two copies of the DVD to give away. Please post your name and email address at Screenhead, and they will pick the winner August 14, 2010.
