Save Money and Become an Expert

I have discussed this issue before, but the web being what it is, I suspect that you may be reading this having arrived here via the 9th wonder of the world: the search engine. If that is true, let me introduce this site. Its called No Myth Fitness and it exists for the benefit of a regular human being for whom getting into shape is a challenge and who has a normal life complete with time constraints that do not permit wasting time on fitness methods that do not work. Its also for those who have some money, but not enough to throw away on equipment and/or supplements that are over-hyped and short on output. Finally, its about the geometry of moving from point A to point B,from unfit to fit, with as much speed and as little undue effort as is possible.
That brings me to the most basic problem for someone to whom weight training or any other activity has been suggested as a "good idea" and is willing or desperate enough to try it: what do I do and how do I do it! If you were a complete beginner and you were to walk into a gym and take a quick glance around you would be justified in being intimidated. There are all those machines-some for running/walking, some for riding, some for lifting. If you turn to the free weights, you could really get a puzzled feeling. What to do and where to begin?
In the old days anyone in your position had the following options: pay for a trainer or open some magazines that only the largest magazines sellers sell and try to piece together a workout and laboriously read the explanations of how to do the various movements. Then you had to go to the gym with the magazine under your arm or with a list and keep it with you as you went. Those days are over. Blessed is the web.
A note: If you have the cash and/or the motivation to succeed and you are a novice, I suggest you get a trainer to help you. To be honest they are usually going to specialize in getting you started and at some point your progress will render them less valuable. They will get you started, though.
If you have the motivation I suggest you surf over to a site like Expert Village. There may be many sites like it. I just don't know. At Expert village start searching for weight training or bodybuilding or fitness etc. You will with a small investment of time find multiple entries that will teach you to train with weights, use cardio machines, shape your abs etc. When you find what you want, the fun begins. You can view the videos over and over and I suggest you do. Then when you are fully familiar with an activity, you can try it out at the gym. When you return home, you can compare your performance with the video and work out any glitches.
You will have the option with Expert Village of adopting the workout as you see it or you can pick and choose. Please make your own effort to find expert advice on the net. If you find what you want, you will save yourself both time and money and and get results and that is why NMF exists. Your servant, as always.
